HOW TO PERFORM WUDHU (ABLUTION) - Step by Step Wudu Guide
Complete Step-by-step Wudu Guide
- Intention (Niyyah)
- Say Bismillah
- Wash Both Hands
- Rinse the Mouth (Kulli)
- Clean the Nose
- Wash the Face
- Wash the Arms
- Wipe the Head (Masah)
- Wash the Feet
- Dua After Wudhu
Step 1: Intention (Niyyah)
You are performing Wudhu for the sake of Allah.
Intention is made in the heart; saying it out loud is not necessary.
Step 2: Say Bismillah
Before starting Wudhu, say:
Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem
This reminds us that we are doing Wudhu in the name of Allah.
Step 3: Wash Both Hands
Wash both hands up to the wrists.
Make sure water reaches between the fingers and all parts of the hands.
Step 4: Rinse the Mouth (Kulli)
Take water into the mouth, swirl it around properly, and then spit it out.
Make sure the inside of the mouth is cleaned well.
Step 5: Clean the Nose
Take water gently into the nose using the right hand,
Then clean the nose using the left hand.
Step 6: Wash the Face
Wash the whole face properly:
- From the hairline to the chin
- From ear to ear
Make sure no part of the face is left dry.
Step 7: Wash the Arms
First, wash the right arm, then the left arm.
Wash from the fingertips up to the elbows.
Make sure water reaches the elbows properly.
Step 8: Wipe the Head (Masah)
Wet your hands and gently wipe the head once.
Move hands from the front of the head to the back.
Then wipe the inside and outside of both ears with wet fingers.
👉 Do Masah 1 time only
Step 9: Wash the Feet
First wash the right foot, then the left foot.
Wash up to the ankles.
Make sure water reaches:
- Heels
- Ankles
- Between the toes
👉 Wash each foot 3 times
Step 10: Dua After Wudhu
After completing Wudhu, say:
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ.
